A Giant Step

Probably the most important key to any relationship is the ‘faith’ key. Whether it’s in business, with friends, our children, or in our marriage – rewarding interactions with others are based on faith. Definitely, it’s the key to our most important relationship ever – that with God himself.  It is faith that brings us to God, faith that helps us endure and faith that enables us to live our life as we should.

One of the coolest chapters in the Bible is the Faith chapter in Hebrews – chapter 11 – I love it. The whole entire salvation story is based on faith. God made it essential to our walk – we have faith in His love, in His redemption, in the eternal life that is to come. We have to have faith.  And so, way back , centuries ago, God took a giant step in the rescue plan of mankind – He worked His story through special man … one who had looked to the heavens at the One, True and Living God rather than accept the dead, stone and wooden gods of the people around him.

“When God needed a man of faith to inhabit his land of promise and become the father of a great nation, he found him in Ur of the Chaldeans. In one timeless moment Abram believed God and set out with his family for a land he had never seen, becoming a great example of faith for all generations. “Alton Howard

Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.

Romans 4:16 … And in :23  … we are declared righteous!

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8

Faith in What We Don’t See  1-2 The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd. By faith, we see the world called into existence by God’s word, what we see created by what we don’t see.   Hebrews 11 (The Message)

I am so, so grateful God didn’t give up on us.

I’m so thankful for Abram and his unwavering faith in the one true God.

I am thankful for the faith of those who went before me – leaving me an example to follow.
